Mass times for three cities, plus newsletters and giving, in one place.
About the client
The Czech Catholic Mission serves Czech speaking Catholics across California, with Mass celebrated in San Diego, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.
Project need
A congregation spread across hundreds of miles has one recurring question: where and when is Mass near me.
That information was hard to find and easy to get wrong, and the mission also had years of newsletters with no permanent home.
Approach
Mass schedules for all three cities come first. Everything else on the site is secondary to answering that one question quickly.
The monthly newsletters, the Věstníky, are archived on the site rather than only distributed by email, so back issues stay available to anyone who wants them.
I added online Mass participation for members who cannot travel, along with a photo gallery and a simple way to donate. For a community this dispersed, remote participation is not a nice extra, it is how some members take part at all.
Result
Members and newcomers can find their nearest Mass in seconds. Newsletters and photographs have a permanent home, and people who cannot travel can still take part.
