My Garden

A plant care web app, built to show what I can do beyond brochure sites.

About the client

My Garden is my own project rather than client work. It is a web app for tracking plant care: watering, photos, notes, and history.

Project need

Most portfolio sites only show marketing websites, which leaves an open question about whether the developer can build something with accounts, data, and logic behind it.

I also wanted a plant tracker that did not require handing my records to a social network.

Approach

I designed and built it end to end. Every plant belongs to a private garden by default, with sharing as an explicit choice rather than the starting point.

Users can record care details and photos over time, set watering reminders, and invite someone to help look after a plant while they travel.

Private by default was the central decision. Most apps in this category treat sharing as the point, and I wanted the opposite.

Result

A working application that demonstrates user accounts, stored data, scheduling, and privacy handling, rather than only page design.
