MY TREES
A dedicated donation site for a tree planting foundation, built to reduce drop off.
About the client
MY TREES Nadační fond is a Czech foundation established in 2020. It plants trees in the Czech Republic and abroad, including work in Colombia, and runs volunteer planting events.
Project need
Donations fund the planting, and most donors arrive right after a campaign or a planting event, when their intent is highest and shortest lived.
Every additional step between deciding to give and finishing the donation costs the foundation money. The existing process relied on bank transfer instructions, which loses people.
Approach
I built the donation flow as its own site on its own subdomain rather than adding a form to an existing page. Campaigns can then link directly to giving instead of routing donors through a site structure first.
The page explains what the money buys, including the decision to plant mature nursery trees rather than saplings because they survive at a higher rate. Donors give more readily when they know what their money does.
Payments are processed online, and the volunteering and municipality programs are covered for people who want to contribute time instead of money.
Everything is in Czech, matching the audience.
Result
The foundation can accept donations online instead of relying on bank transfers, and campaign traffic lands directly on the giving page.
